The WorkHorsemen of Anthony Henry and JD Drake have been absent from All Elite Wrestling since the special Beach Break edition of Dynamite on July 8 when they lost to Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay, and the reason for their absence is due to Henry requiring neck surgery.

Henry announced on Twitter that he was suffering from a herniated disc in his neck and would be out of action for three to six months.

"I haven’t been active on here, but I at least wanted to give any fans of myself or the #Workhorsemen an update. My neck is kinda screwed. I will need surgery. The herniated disc is on the spinal cord itself, which makes this even more scary. Recovery is anywhere from 3-6 months," Henry tweeted.

Henry - who had a very brief stint in WWE NXT as Asher Hale in 2021 - has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since September 2021. He was released by AEW in April 2024, only for Tony Khan to announce days later that Henry would be back with the company after he recovered from a broken jaw he suffered in an indy match a few weeks earlier. Henry made his return to AEW/ROH in May 2024.

Anthony Henry and JD Drake have primarily been utilised on Ring of Honor as both singles and tag team competitors, with Henry's most recent match being a singles loss to Juice Robinson at the July 20 taping of ROH TV.
