Asuka Apparently Hurt At SmackDown Live Event; Match Stopped

According to witnesses...

At SmackDown's live event in White Plains, NY on Monday night, Women's champion Asuka was apparently hurt during her match against Mandy Rose.

Witness Dan Hevia shared photographs and gave an eyewitness account through his Twitter feed. According to Hevia, Asuka was dropped on the side of her head during a reverse flapjack spot. Hevia claims that Asuka tucked her head suddenly before the moment of impact.

The referee threw up the 'X' injury signal, and the match was then hastily ended, as trainers and Finlay tended to Asuka.

Hevia adds that Asuka was able to walk out under her own power, though clearly favoring her head and neck.

No additional details were available at press time. Other spectators have shared similar accounts through their social feeds, largely echoing Hevia's account of what happened.

Asuka is currently scheduled to defend the Women's title against Rose this Sunday night at WWE's Fastlane pay-per-view in Cleveland.

More details and updates on Asuka will be provided when they are made available.
