Aubrey Edwards Wins In AEW Debut

Referee Aubrey Edwards has her first win in AEW

AEW official Aubrey Edwards stepped foot in the ring for the first time ever in AEW (the second time in her career) last night on the June 16 edition of Rampage, and it turned out to be a successful night for the referee.

Following an interaction at Double or Nothing 2023 when Karen Jarrett smacked Edwards over the head with a guitar, the pair got into a heated feud which built over the next few weeks. Whilst AEW refused to sanction a singles match, a trios bout was allowed in which Edwards teamed up with Mark Briscoe and his father Papa Briscoe, whilst Jarrett teamed up with her husband Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal.

It was a fairly short match in which the eventual clash between Karen Jarrett and Aubrey Edwards was teased throughout. In the meantime, Papa Briscoe got a chance to shine, taking it to the heels. Eventually, Jarrett and Edwards were tagged in, and aside from a rake to the eyes, it was all Edwards. She would even attempt to hit her opponent with a guitar for some revenge, though Lethal put himself in harm's way to take the brunt of the guitar shot. In the end, the referee locked in a Figure Four Leglock to earn her team the victory and to score a win in her very first AEW match.
