Austin Theory Addresses Recent Character Change

Austin Theory on his new character

After failing to cash in his Money in the Bank contract for the United States Championship earlier this month, Austin Theory underwent a character change, moving away from being a joker who takes selfies.

Instead, Theory has developed a more aggressive side and that paid dividends at Survivor Series WarGames as he defeated Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley in Triple Threat action to become a two-time United States Champion.

Speaking with BT Sport after his title win, Theory addressed his change in attitude, saying:

"It's as wild as it has been for everybody else. You go from being so used to something to a quick switch and pretty much, that quick switch changes everything but, for a good way I feel like because for me, it was a chance for Austin Theory to evolve and go to that next level and you know, I can't take selfies forever and be a goofball so it's finding that next chapter and what's gonna get me to becoming a world champion and I think we're on the right track."

Theory was Vince McMahon's protege in 2022 until the former WWE CEO's retirement. The 25-year-old looked primed to tumble down the card but he looks set to push on following his win at Survivor Series WarGames.
