When Vince McMahon offered Pat McAfee a match at WrestleMania 38, we all assumed the WWE Chairman would have protege Austin Theory wrestle as his proxy.

Theory obliged (like he had any choice) and revealed to Planeta Wrestling that in an ideal world he’d add a stipulation to their bout:

"You know if I could add a stipulation, I definitely would and it would be probably a lot of weapons. So, I'd like to say 'No DQ.'"

If the match were to become No DQ it’d be no skin off of McAfee’s nose, as the SmackDown colour commentator previously participated in a hellacious WarGames match at NXT: TakeOver WarGames IV in December 2021, where the team of McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan, and Danny Burch lost to The Undisputed ERA.

WrestleMania 38 will be McAfee’s third-ever match in a WWE ring, and his first WrestleMania, whilst Theory had his maiden Mania bout at the empty arena WrestleMania 36 night two, where Theory and Angel Garza lost to then RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits.
