Report: Kenny Omega Undergoes Knee Surgery

Knee surgery for Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has been out of action since Full Gear 2021 in November and The Best Bout Machine won't be returning anytime soon.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Omega is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and his recovery is expected to take approximately 10 weeks.

The former AEW World Champion will also undergo surgery on his sports hernia at the end of March, which will be a two-month recovery time. He will get other issues taken care of too.

The Cleaner was "badly banged up" throughout his AEW run due to his time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Omega dealt with multiple injuries in 2021, including to his knees and shoulders.

Such was the extent of Omega's injuries that an IMPACT segment featuring The Best Bout Machine running to the ring was cut because Scott D'Amore told him he walked to the squared circle like a "95-year-old man."

Omega had also been performing while suffering from vertigo in recent years, noting he had to learn how to wrestle while the ring was spinning.
