After several weeks of teasers and anticipation, Hologram made his in-ring debut last night on AEW Collision, defeating Gringo Loco in a singles match where the former Aramis showcased off his lucha libre skills to the AEW audience. Following a striking entrance and a fairly dominant match, Hologram scored the victory with an airplane spin into a powerbomb, which has been coined as the Portal Bomb.

In the lead up to last night’s successful arrival on AEW programming, there were a few backstage details flying around about the character. Fightful Select have noted that the idea for this character has been floating about for some time already, with internal discussions last year - which was when AEW trademarked the name. When speaking to those in AEW, it was revealed to Fightful that the character was to be “technologically ambitious”.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer gave a more exact time frame on how long this idea had been pitched by Tony Khan, revealing that Khan had this idea for around five years, with Aramis being the wrestler recommended and signed for the character specifically.
