Backstage News On Call-Up For Major NXT Star

WWE taped episodes of RAW and SmackDown ahead of time this past week, giving wrestlers time off over Christmas week. In the spoilers for Friday Night SmackDown on December 26, an interesting name was featured in a backstage segment on the show, with reports now suggesting that this name from NXT is now a part of the main roster.

On SmackDown, former NXT & TNA World Champion Trick Williams showed up backstage, facing off in Nick Aldis’ office with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, running a storyline which sees him as a hot free agent seeking a new home on the main roster. It has been reported by Bodyslam.net that WWE’s sources have confirmed that Williams is now internally listed on the SmackDown roster, moving up to the main roster on a full-time basis “very soon”.

Williams signed with WWE back in 2021, making his debut as an ally to Carmelo Hayes. He went on to become one of the faces of the brand, winning the NXT Championship twice, the North American Championship, and winning the TNA World Title as part of the NXT-TNA crossover.
