John Cena's final WWE Raw appearance emanated from New York City's Madison Square Garden on Monday, November 17 and the show featured plenty of celebrity cameos, including from members of the New York Giants.
The opening contest of Raw saw John Cena, Sheamus, and Rey Mysterio defeat Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor, and JD McDonagh. The likes of Andrew Schulz (booed) and members of the New York Giants (cheered) were shown during the post-match commercial break, during which Dominik Mysterio grabbed the microphone from Schulz.
This prompted New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo to rise to his feet in defence of Schulz and the injured NFL player ended up pushing over JD McDonagh to a big cheer from the Madison Square Garden crowd.
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was WWE's idea to have members of the New York Giants involved in the angle on the show, and the NFL team were excited to be a part of Raw.
"I was told that they approached the New York Giants about this idea and the Giants were all raring to go. They were so excited to be involved in this angle," Alvarez said.
While the New York Giants are set to finish with a losing record for the 11th time in 13 seasons in 2025, the emergence of Cam Skattebo and quarterback Jaxson Dart has fuelled excitement for the future amongst Giants fans, with both players already popular in New York in their rookie seasons.
