After weeks of teasing and ‘tweening’, Drew McIntyre officially turned heel on the November 13 edition of WWE Raw. The ‘Scottish Psychopath’ cemented his turn by pasting Jey Uso with a Claymore and aligning with Judgment Day.

A report from Fightful Select suggests that WWE have been planning McIntyre’s turn ‘for at least a couple of months’, with McIntyre’s motivations becoming murkier and his exasperations more pronounced on WWE TV.

The turn marks the first heel run for ‘Irn Dru’ in several years, with McIntyre having turned face in the run-up to the 2020 Royal Rumble, and his eventual WWE Championship victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36.

Signs of a potential heel turn for McIntyre started to show in early 2023, with Drew’s alliance with Sheamus and The Brawling Brutes tested ahead of their triple threat Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther at WrestleMania 39. After continuing with his babyface ways throughout the Summer, it was losing to World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel that caused many to assume we were close to Drew finally turning.
