Top WWE Star Written Off TV

A top WWE star won't be on TV until next year

One of WWE's top stars won't be back in the ring until 2024.

Rey Mysterio dropped the United States Championship to Logan Paul at WWE's Crown Jewel pay-per-view and the former World Heavyweight Champion has since been laid out by Santos Escobar on the November 10 edition of SmackDown. This came after fellow LWO member Carlito blamed Escobar for Mysterio's loss at Crown Jewel.

The attack has ultimately written Mysterio off TV as the 48-year-old revealed this week that he underwent knee surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. Haus of Wrestling has reported that Mysterio had been working with a torn meniscus for the past three months and the injury had slowly worsened. This prompted Mysterio to agree to lose the United States Title to Logan Paul and be written off TV with the attack from Santos Escobar.

Mysterio is expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks and he is likely to resume his programme with Santos Escobar when he makes his comeback.  The current timeline would allow Mysterio to return in time for the Royal Rumble and the build to WrestleMania 40.
