The 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament is set to begin in All Elite Wrestling, but as revealed on Dynamite, Jay White will no longer be taking part.

White was set to face Will Ospreay in a first-round match but has been replaced by newcomer Kevin Knight, with White pulled from the tournament after suffering an injury at the hands of the Death Riders during a backstage attack on the show on April 2.

Per a report from Fightful Select, White is legitimately injured and is expected to undergo surgery. The injury is significant enough that AEW are believed to have made significant creative changes due to White having to take time off. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that White is dealing with a broken hand.

White previously missed time in Summer 2024 after suffering a foot injury, with White and Bang Bang Gang partners The Gunns forced to vacate the AEW World Trios Championships as a result.

Both the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournaments are set to kick off in the coming weeks, with the finals set for Double or Nothing on May 25.
