Backstage News On Jeff Cobb's WWE Debut At Backlash

Jeff Cobb made his debut for WWE at the 2025 Backlash premium live event last night in St. Louis, Missouri, aligning himself with Solo Sikoa and aiding Jacob Fatu to a United States Championship defence. This follows on from reports of Cobb being WWE-bound over the last few months, finishing up his time in NJPW before signing with the company.

In the aftermath of his arrival at Backlash, some more has been learned about his debut and signature with WWE. Fightful Select have noted that Jeff Cobb’s signing isn’t a recent thing, and that he’s actually been signed for ‘some months’, being listed on the internal roster for a while. 

Additionally, PWInsider have revealed that some backstage were already ‘marvelling’ about Jeff Cobb, as it has been learned that Cobb took between 4 and 5 different flights over the last day and a half in order to travel from Japan to St. Louis, arriving the morning before the Backlash premium live event and hiding all day to keep the debut a surprise. As noted, Cobb sided with Sikoa & Fatu, but it has been confirmed here also that he will be a member of the Friday Night SmackDown roster.
