WWE President Nick Khan was instrumental in New Jack being added to WWE 2K25.
WWE 2K Producer Bryan Williams revealed to PWInsider that Khan suggested adding the ECW legend to WWE 2K25 as downloadable content. Khan is currently working on the paperwork to ensure New Jack is part of the upcoming video game from Visual Concepts.
"New Jack was a shock to all of us on the VC (Visual Concepts) and marketing side. New Jack was someone who I never expected would make it into our franchise. It's funny because it was actually Nick Khan who recommended or suggested that we add New Jack as DLC. When I heard that information from my marketing rep I was like, 'Really?' They were like, 'Oh yeah, he's a big fan.' I believe he's working on the paperwork to make this thing a reality," Williams said.
"That was a huge surprise. Talk about a curveball, that thing came out of not left field, that came out of a different game altogether. So I'm really excited to have New Jack be a part of the game this year and we have some really cool things planned for New Jack."
New Jack was one of the most recognisable talents from Extreme Championship Wrestling, working for the promotion from 1995 until ECW went bankrupt in 2001. Real name Jerome Young, New Jack passed away in 2021 at the age of 58.
New Jack will be a part of the Fearless Pack of WWE 2K25 DLC which is set to be released in July. Other wrestlers in the pack include Jordynne Grace, Penta, and Bull Nakano.
WWE 2K25 will be released on Friday, March 14 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
