Kamille Defends Damaris Lewis Over AEW Revolution Comments
The 'Queen of the Ring' star's words drew criticism

AEW Revolution saw the words of Damaris Lewis cause a stir prior to the main event.
Interviewed in the crowd by Tony Schiavone alongside fellow Queen of the Ring star Kelli Berglund, Lewis said the following about her experience making the movie:
"One thing I learned about pro wrestlers, y'all know you're gonna win before anybody else does, so thank you for teaching me that."
Lewis' words prompted criticism from many fans on social media, who took the star's words as a flagrant breach of kayfabe, an open acknowledgement of wrestling's pre-determined nature live on pay-per-view. The fact this happened moments before Jon Moxley's title defence against Cope, and moments after a bloody Steel Cage Match between Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher, only worsened the situation in the eyes of many.
However, former NWA World Women's Champion Kamille has stepped to Lewis' defence. Kamille - who is currently still signed with AEW, but hasn't wrestled since last October - said the following on Instagram:
"I'm seeing lots of things about, 'Oh my Gosh, how could this actress say wrestling is fake.' I looked and it was my girlfriend Damaris. I was thinking, 'Why would she say something like that?' I did press with her, I was on the film with her, she has so much respect for wrestling.
"I looked into it and I watched the video. Guys, that's not what she meant. [...] Something she really reinforced [during the Queen of the Ring press tour] was that she learned from Mildred's story, and a lot of the wrestlers that she talked to [...] She's not talking about who is going to win. If you notice she doesn't say, 'You already know who is going to win.' She said, 'You already know you're going to win.' What she meant by that is that we are determined. We know that we are winners. We know that we're going to make it no matter what. We have in our mind, pre-determined, that we are going to win and we're going to get where we want to go, do what we want to do, what dream we set. That's what she meant."
