In an unexpected shock at last weekend’s AEW Revolution 2026 PPV, Ronda Rousey showed up to confront ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm, aligning herself with real-life friend and fellow Horsewoman Marina Shafir. This arrival prompted some reported shock from those behind the scenes in WWE, especially with some reports in recent months hinting at Rousey looking at working WWE again.
More has now been learned about the potential reason as to why Rousey opted to show up in AEW rather than an eventual WWE comeback. It was revealed by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that someone close to the situation stated that Rousey’s AEW appearance fits into Rousey’s current vendetta against TKO. This comes after TKO negotiated with her for more than a year for a fight with Gina Carano, though when the fight was not set to take place on a PPV, attempting to alter payment and compensation.
It wasn’t stated whether Rousey sticking it to TKO by making an appearance in AEW was the sole reason behind this decision, though it seemed to be a contributing factor at the very least.
