Backstage News On Seth Rollins' WWE Return
Update on Seth Rollins' return to WWE TV
Jun 26, 2024
Seth Rollins' return to WWE TV wasn't a last-minute deal.
After dropping the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40, Rollins took some time off and underwent surgery to repair his torn meniscus. The 38-year-old then returned on the June 17 edition of Monday Night Raw, setting up a World Heavyweight Title match with Damian Priest at Money in the Bank.
Discussing his return, Rollins revealed to ComicBook Nation that he had a few weeks notice about coming back to WWE TV.
"A little fluctuation, yeah, I had a few weeks notice. We kind of looked at the timeline of the injury, and the story and where I fell back into place, you never know how things are going to go. But the top of the card here on Raw is pretty stacked, you got guys like Damian Priest, you got Drew McIntyre, CM Punk whenever he's around and able, you got Gunther kind of waiting in the wings as well... so it's stacked, it was very interesting to see where I could slide in. The time felt right coming off a huge event overseas, Clash at the Castle in Scotland, it was ripe for the pickin', man. Damian Priest needed a challenger, so I hopped right in," Rollins stated.
Stipulations have since been added to Rollins' match with Priest at Money in the Bank. Should Priest win, Rollins will be unable to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship as long as Priest is champion. If the World Heavyweight Champion loses, though, he will have to quit Judgment Day.
