Backstage News On Vince McMahon's Return To WWE Creative

Vince McMahon has recently returned to WWE Creative

When Vince McMahon made his return to WWE, many assumed it was only a matter of time until Vince once again played a greater hand in WWE’s creative process, with it revealed that McMahon had been working with creative in more of an 'overseer' role after his return.

With the official takeover by Endeavor completed and WWE and UFC merged under the TKO Group umbrella, McMahon is no longer majority owner of WWE. Reports stemming from the latest episode of WWE Raw suggested that Vince has instead taken control of WWE creative once more, whilst serving as TKO’s Executive Chairman of the board. McMahon had previously been on medical leave following spinal surgery in July.

The September 11 Raw was the last WWE product to be broadcast with McMahon in sole control of the company, with the takeover finalised on September 12. Reports emerged that McMahon was making wholesale changes to the show, with a further report from Fightful Select revealing more about Vince’s recent creative decisions in WWE.

It’s been reported that both McMahon and Triple H made changes, with show changes believed to have been occurring all the way until bell time. McMahon may have also been involved with WWE creative earlier than originally thought, with Vince believed to have been calling in last-minute changes on the latest edition of SmackDown on September 9 as well.

It’s yet to be revealed how long McMahon has had his hands-on approach with creative this time round, as the 78-year-old was recently out of action after major spinal surgery. After the formation of TKO Group on September 12, it was revealed that Triple H is still listed as WWE’s head of creative.
