It’s been a wild week for All Elite Wrestling and WWE NXT, with the two shows having gone head-to-head on October 10 in a highly publicised ratings battle.

AEW Dynamite was moved to Tuesday for one night as it was pre-empted my MLB action on Wednesday, with NXT loading up with WWE legends in order to decisively win the night.

Ahead of the clash on Tuesday, AEW President Tony Khan was especially active on Twitter/X, taking shots at WWE, Vince McMahon, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels amongst others. After the ratings came out and showed a decisive win for NXT, Khan again took to social media to point out how it was the first time a WWE show featuring The Undertaker and John Cena drew less than 1million viewers.

A report from Fightful Select suggest that some in AEW were surprised about the the Undertaker/Cena Tweet especially. Khan’s Tweets are not subject to any clearance from AEW or WBD PR, and whilst some believe Khan shouldn’t have tweeted such observations, others believe he was making the best of a bad situation and having fun, with it noted how Khan plugged upcoming AEW shows shortly after, likely taking advantage of the extra attention his posts were receiving.

On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez suggested that some within AEW and WWE believe Khan needs to stop Tweeting as much, with the sentiment being ‘can somebody get this guy off his phone’. Haus of Wrestling reported similar findings, with a source in WWE finding Khan ‘petulant’, whilst a source from within CM Punk’s camp said this kind of behaviour makes Punk feel happy to be away from the promotion.
