Bad Bunny Announced For May 5 WWE SmackDown

Bad Bunny will appear on SmackDown in Puerto Rico next week

SmackDown on May 5 is the go-home show for the Backlash PPV event. The show is to take place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot - the same setting as the Backlash show in San Juan, Puerto Rico just 24 hours later.

Hometown hero and music sensation Bad Bunny will be in attendance, per a WWE announcement at the 2023 draft show on the April 28 edition of SmackDown, helping to hype up his huge match at the PPV. Bunny challenged Judgment Day member Damian Priest to a Street Fight this past Monday night on Raw, and it was quickly made official. After some special feature matches in WWE, in which he teamed with Priest to take on The Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania 37, and a cameo entry in the 2022 Royal Rumble match, this will mark Bunny’s first singles match ever.

Also announced for the upcoming episode of SmackDown is a grudge match between Karrion Kross and Shinsuke Nakamura, who have had some trouble with one another ever since Nakamura’s return to television. Finally, after an interaction following The OC getting drafted over to SmackDown, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson will take on the Viking Raiders.
