Batista has not been invited to SmackDown Live 1000, even though the show is taking place in his hometown of Washington DC.

As you can see in the tweet below, a fan pleaded with WWE to get The Animal involved with the milestone event. However, the former WWE Champion revealed that he hasn't been asked, and by now he "shouldn't be shocked anymore."

WWE is expected to bring back several stars from the past for one-off appearances on the big night next month, with the likes of Edge (who claimed on Twitter recently that he knew nothing about a potential appearance), The Undertaker, and even The Rock all names being bandied about at the moment.

It's interesting that WWE seemingly don't want Batista around for the big night considering he was one of, if not the biggest star on the blue brand in the mid to late 2000s. While the likes of Edge and 'Taker were out of action in 2007, the former Evolution member carried the brand on his back at the very main event level - to me at least.

Not only that, but alongside Rocky and John Cena, Batista's one of the three big success stories to come out of the pro wrestling world in terms of making it in more mainstream media. Surely WWE would want a man with his star power around for their big celebration, right?

Interestingly, the official website of the arena is still currently advertising a ‘Triple Main Event’ for the 1000th episode, with AJ Styles taking on Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan against The Miz, and Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy all set to take place. However, as we all know by now with these arena announcements, WWE's cards are always

subject to change.
