While Bayley is still contracted to WWE, there have been multiple teases that she could be AEW-bound at some point in the future, with Bayley's friend Mercedes Moné posting a fake poster for a Mercedes Mone vs. Davina Rose match at AEW WrestleDream earlier this summer, while Bayley herself recently posted a training video on Instagram with the backing track of 'All In' by The Grouch & Eligh.
While the teases could simply be Bayley and Mercedes Moné trolling, Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live noted the posts have left people within professional wrestling "baffled by this whole thing." Bayley may not be a free agent for months, too, with Alvarez reporting that the belief in AEW is that Bayley's contract may not expire until January 2027, or even possibly later.
"I don't know this 100 per cent but I can tell you at least amongst those within AEW, first off, everyone I talked to is also baffled by this whole thing, but the belief is her deal is not up for a while. Maybe as long as January, and that is if they don’t add any time. Long story short, she ain’t gonna be at All In, and I don't know why her and Mercedes are teasing a match at All In, but it ain't gonna happen," Alvarez said.
It was reported this week that Bayley had yet to re-sign with WWE amid speculation about her future with the company, with WWE noting the multi-time women's champion "has a decision to make." Bayley is expected to have interest from both WWE and AEW.
Bayley is currently absent from WWE TV, having been written off with a post-match attack from Lyra Valkyria at the July 18 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. Bayley worked two house show matches following SNME, but she has not wrestled at all since July 26.
