Becky Lynch Asked For The Rock's Permission To Use The Manhandle Slam At WWE SummerSlam

After over a year outside of the squared circle, Becky Lynch returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2021 and quickly captured gold, pinning Bianca Belair after 26 seconds to win the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Lynch used a version of the Rock Bottom, the Manhandle Slam to pin Belair, and The Man revealed on Out Of Character with Ryan Satin that she asked for Dwayne Johnson's permission to use the finisher. 

"I like the Manhandle Slam because you can hit it out of anywhere. I used a variation of the Rock Bottom before but it's just easier to get it and go. I asked The Rock if I could use it and he was very gracious and said that I could," Lynch said.

The SmackDown Women's Champion then detailed her phone call with The Rock, adding: "I told him how SummerSlam was gonna go down and said, 'Look, here's what I'm thinking. I'm supposed to hit one move on her. Can I use this?' 'Yeah.' There was more, he is so awesome and so gracious with his time and his advice. You can't be able to get advice from one of the best like that and somebody who is so busy like that, it makes me feel so lucky."

Since SummerSlam, Lynch has continued to feud with Bianca Belair and The Man will defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Belair and Sasha Banks on October 21 at Crown Jewel.
