Becky Lynch Confirms WWE Scrapped Recent Raw Match

Becky Lynch confirms WWE Raw scrapped plans

Becky Lynch found one of her matches on WWE Raw scrapped in recent weeks.

Original plans on the September 18 edition of Monday Night Raw called for Becky Lynch to defend the NXT Women's Championship against Tegan Nox in an open challenge. Lynch pushed for the match to take place but Nox ended up being pulled from Raw following last-minute rewrites by Vince McMahon and Triple H. Instead, Nox faced Xia Li on Main Event, while Natalya challenged Lynch for the NXT Women's Title. Natalya was reportedly slotted into the title match as a reward for her pulling double duty at WWE Superstar Spectacle in India

Becky Lynch has since confirmed the plans for a singles match with Nox were scrapped as she told the New York Post: "There is full truth in that. That was one of the things that I wanted to do with this title. I wanted to have open challenges for the women who haven't been getting opportunities, women that have been in the back that love wrestling and that want an opportunity and haven't been able to get it."

Tegan Nox would instead make her WWE Raw return on September 25, picking up a win over Natalya.

Becky Lynch has been NXT Women's Champion since the September 12 edition of NXT. Lynch defeated Tiffany Stratton for the belt and they will face off in a rematch at NXT No Mercy on Saturday, September 30. The rematch will be an Extreme Rules affair.
