Becky Lynch Reveals Scrapped Plans For Return At WWE WrestleMania 37

Lynch returned at WWE SummerSlam 2021

Becky Lynch has revealed she had been ready for a surprise return to WWE in time for WrestleMania 37, with a potential match against Bayley being discussed.

Lynch, who stepped away from WWE in May 2020 due to pregnancy, teased her return to the company on social media in the run-up to WrestleMania 37 at Raymond James Stadium, leading to fans in attendance clamouring for an appearance from The Man at the two-night show.

WrestleMania 37 passed by without Lynch showing up, who eventually returned at SummerSlam 2021 in August, defeating Bianca Belair to win the SmackDown Women's Title.

Lynch has now admitted that there were discussions held about a potential return for this year's WrestleMania, saying at a media event in the UK: ""I thought I was going to be back for Mania. I was ready to come back by Mania, but look, they called for SummerSlam.

"I stayed ready because I'm a hero. I believe the original return date was going to be October."

When asked if facing Bayley at WrestleMania 37 had been in the works, Lynch responded: "That had been thrown around."

With a match with Lynch not happening, Bayley instead served as the unofficial host of WrestleMania 37, getting beaten up by Hall Of Famers Nikki and Brie Bella towards the close of Night Two.
