Becky Lynch Teases WWE NXT Return Following Tiffany Stratton's Mistake

Stratton misspoke during a promo on last night's show.

Becky Lynch could be the next WWE star to show up on NXT television.

On last night's edition of the show, current NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton erroneously mentioned Lynch alongside Bayley, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair as former NXT Women's Champions during an in-ring promo.

As Becky was quick to point out on X (formerly Twitter), she never held the title, writing, "I haven't been NXT Women's Champion...yet".

In another promo later on, Stratton noted that "trolls on X" had pointed out her mistake, before calling Lynch "irrelevant".

Tiffany's immediate challenger will be determined on next week's show when Gigi Dolin, Blair Davenport, Roxanne Perez and Kiana James will battle in a bid to become number one contender.

The Man, meanwhile, has two major upcoming matches booked.

On this coming Monday's episode of Raw, Becky will meet Zoey Stark in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Then at Payback on September 2, Lynch will take on Trish Status in a Steel Cage match.

She last wrestled for NXT on the November 20, 2019, edition of the show (where she went to a No Contest with Rhea Ripley).
