Bianca Belair: Bayley Helped To Show The WWE Universe Who I Am

Bayley underwent surgery on a torn ACL last week

Bianca Belair has heaped praise on Bayley, saying the SmackDown superstar helped to show the WWE Universe who she was.

Belair and Bayley feuded over the SmackDown Women's Championship in the past few months, since Belair won the Title from Sasha Banks at WWE WrestleMania 37.

Having defeated Bayley at WrestleMania: Backlash and inside Hell In A Cell, the two were scheduled to meet in an 'I Quit' Match at Money In The Bank, only for the bout to be cancelled after Bayley suffered a torn ACL the week before the show.

With The Role Model out for nine months, Belair has hailed the work done by Bayley in helping to establish her on the main roster.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Belair said: "It meant everything for me to work with Bayley. She’s been there every step of the way for me until now. She gave me momentum going into the Royal Rumble, we came full circle after WrestleMania, and she helped show the SmackDown universe who I am. She brought out a whole new side of me at Hell in a Cell.

"Fighting Bayley after winning the title at WrestleMania was perfect. I’ve been very fortunate to work with her. She has contributed to so much of my success. She’s made me better, and I’m going to carry that forward and carry that through.

“Bayley is a locker room leader and an amazing person inside and out. I’ve watched and learned from her, the way she handles situations and adapts so easily and quickly. She has the ability to make things look so easy. We’re going to miss her so much while she’s out. She’s a legend in the making, but she does so much more than just make it about herself. She gives and contributes so much to the locker room."
