Bianca Belair Vs. Carmella Rematch Announced For 7/23 WWE SmackDown

The title will be on the line once more

A rematch pitting SmackDown Women's champion Bianca Belair against Carmella is scheduled for the July 23 episode of SmackDown in Cleveland.

On Friday night's SmackDown, Belair defeated Carmella to retain the title. After the match, Carmella cut a promo on Twitter, complaining that she only had six days to prepare for the title match, and thus demanded a rematch.

Belair appeared on Saturday's edition of Talking Smack, where she accepted Carmella's challenge, noting that she's a fighting champion. Said Belair, "If she wants a rematch, let's do it again next week. I'm all for it. Let's do it. I'm saying, be careful what you ask for, because now I'm granting it to Carmella, next week."

As it stands, Belair vs. Carmella is the only match presently scheduled for next Friday's SmackDown.

Belair was initially intended to defend her championship against Bayley in an I Quit match at Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view, before Bayley was sidelined with a torn ACL. Carmella was slotted in as a replacement opponent, and the match was moved up two nights to last night's SmackDown in Houston.
