Big Damo Wins PROGRESS Atlas Title

Big Damo is a champion on the British independent wrestling scene once again, having defeated Luke Jacobs to capture the Atlas Championship at PROGRESS Wrestling's Chapter 142 event in Birmingham on Sunday. 

Damo said after the win: "I'm feeling battered and bruised. However, I am now PROGRESS Wrestling Atlas Champion. Luke Jacobs is an incredible athlete, and he is only 22. When I was 22, I was miles away from where I am now, and that is more than 15 years ago. He has got the world at his feet and when he is my age, he could well be a WWE Hall of Famer, he is that good. He made a fatal mistake, I capitalised on that and got the W."

Damo returned to PROGRESS in April of 2022 and actually faced Jacobs in his return match, losing to the young star in the first round of the Atlas Title tournament. Jacobs would go on to win the tournament and held the gold until his loss to The Beast of Belfast on Sunday. 

The former WWE star will defend the Atlas Championship for the first time on Tuesday against Shigehiro Irie.
