Big E On New Day Being Split Up Again In WWE: "It's Always Disappointing"

Big E would have preferred they stay together

While New Day were always together for their first five years as a faction, the group have largely been kept apart since the 2020 Draft.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were moved to Monday Night Raw while Big E remained on SmackDown in that draft but the faction reunited after E won the WWE Title in September of this year. Their reunion wouldn't last, though, and WWE opted to move Kingston and Woods to SmackDown in the 2021 draft, away from Big E.

Speaking to talkSPORT about the split, Big E revealed the faction knew ahead of the 2021 draft they would be split again, but he admitted: "It's always disappointing."

"We got some heads up so we knew it was coming, and I wasn't shocked. I was hoping, though, that we'd be on the same brand and they could have done their own thing and I could have done mine. It's always disappointing," Big E began.

"I will say, I think the last year of being on SmackDown while they were on Raw did help me grow as a wrestler and a performer. There are some benefits, but really I'm just trying to find the silver lining of it all - it still sucks. But at the same time, I want to make sure I'm not standing in the way of those guys growing or putting us in a situation where they're just running out there for my matches and being my cheerleaders, I don't think that would be best for them. So we're all trying to make the best of it."

New Day have continued to enjoy success since being split in the draft. Big E remains WWE Champion on Raw, while Xavier Woods recently won the 2021 King Of The Ring.
