Big E Reveals He Suffered a Broken Neck During WWE SmackDown

Best wishes go out to Big E on a full recovery

Big E has revealed that he sustained a broken neck, the result of an awkward landing during a tag team match on Friday's WWE SmackDown.

In a video posted to social media, Big E (wearing a neck brace and lying in a hospital bed) revealed that in spite of the diagnosis, he can move his fingers and toes, and that still feels otherwise strong.

After thanking the fans for their support and concern, Big E said, in part, "Strength feels fine, but unfortunately right now they tell me my neck is broken, so there's that. Once again, thank you everybody, I'm going to be alright. I'll be good."

Big E was teaming with New Day partner Kofi Kingston in a match against Sheamus and Ridge Holland. At one juncture, Big E and Holland were brawling out at ringside, when Holland attempted an overhead belly to belly suplex. Unfortunately, Big E didn't rotate enough on the throw, and landed squarely on the top of his head on the floor.

After the match, Big E was stretchered out of the ringside area, and was able to give a thumbs up to the fans in attendance.

Cultaholic extends its best wishes to Big E on a full and healthy recovery.
