Billy Jack Haynes Officially Charged Following Release From Hospital

Billy Jack Haynes officially charged

Former WWE wrestler and Portland wrestling star Billy Jack Haynes (real name Willam Albert Haynes) was officially charged on Wednesday, February 28 following the fatal shooting of his 85-year-old wife, Janette Becraft, earlier this month.

Haynes was charged by the Portland Police Bureau following his release from hospital and he has been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. Haynes is facing charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Haynes was arrested on February 8 after reports of gunfire at Haynes and Becraft's home in Portland, Oregon. A police stand-off ensued before Haynes eventually exited his home. After the end of the stand-off, Janette Becraft was found dead in her home with a gunshot wound.

Haynes had been hospitalised since the incident until his arrest on Wednesday. He was admitted to hospital with an unrelated medical condition.

The 70-year-old Haynes wrestled for WWE from 1986 until 1988. The most notable moment of his WWE career came at WrestleMania 3 where he faced Hercules Hernandez in a Battle of the Full Nelsons. The match ended in a double count-out.
