Bobby Fish's First Post-AEW Appearance Revealed
Bobby Fish back on the independents
Sep 6, 2022
Bobby Fish's first appearance since his AEW contract expired has been revealed.
Independent wrestling promotion Black Label Pro announced that Fish will be in action at their Turbo Graps event on September 24. Fish will go one-on-one with Indy star Kevin Blackwood at the show. The event will take place in Crown Point, Indiana.
Fish recently returned to independent wrestling, defeating NJPW's Yuya Uemura at DEFY's event on August 20 in Seattle, Washington.
The former Undisputed Elite member was previously under contract with All Elite Wrestling but his deal quietly expired on August 31. His departure came about after both sides failed to reach an agreement on a new deal although the "door is not closed" on AEW and Fish working together again in the future, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Fish made his AEW debut back in October of 2021, unsuccessfully challenging Sammy Guevara for the TNT Title. He would have high-profile singles matches against the likes of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson before he twice unsuccessfully challenged for the AEW World Tag Team Titles with reDRagon partner Kyle O'Reilly.
Fish's final appearance on TV came in early August when reDRagon and Adam Cole turned on The Young Bucks. There was no follow-up to the angle, though, as Kyle O'Reilly has since underwent fusion neck surgery while Adam Cole remains out of action due to a serious concussion suffered back in June.
