While a WWE Championship match only main evented two of WWE's 11 pay-per-views in 2021 compared to the Universal Title's seven main event matches, Bobby Lashley believes the WWE Title is on the same level as Roman Reigns' gold.

"I think it is [on the same level as the Universal Championship]," Lashley told Bleacher Report. "What company do we work for? WWE. I have the WWE Championship. To me, I don't see anything bigger than that. I understand [Brock] wanting to go against Roman, I'm not taking anything away from Roman because I think Roman is at the top of his game. I think he's really transcending anything he can do. I give credit where credit is due."

While some would agree with Lashley, the Universal Title has very much been presented as WWE's premier championship ever since Roman Reigns captured the gold in August of 2020 and The Tribal Chief has cemented himself as the company's top star during his reign.

The WWE Title could be on the same level as the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 38, though, with reports noting that Vince McMahon is leaning towards making Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns a Title vs. Title Match.
