Report: Vince McMahon Leaning Towards Making WWE WrestleMania 38 Main Event Title Vs. Title

Plans change

While Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns' WrestleMania 38 match wasn't originally going to be title vs. title, WWE appear to be on course to change their minds.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the feeling is that Vince McMahon is leaning towards making the planned WrestleMania 38 night two main event title vs. title and he will ultimately decide to do so.

Individuals, including Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar, have also pushed for the match to be for the WWE and Universal Titles.

Meltzer noted the angle to set up a title vs. title match will likely take place at the February 19 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Lesnar is currently scheduled to challenge for the WWE Title in the Elimination Chamber Match, while Roman Reigns is reportedly going to defend the Universal Title against Goldberg at the show.

Part of the thinking behind making Lesnar vs. Reigns for both world titles is that WWE want to make it "the biggest possible match", especially since both men have previously faced off at WrestleMania 31 and WrestleMania 34.

If Vince McMahon will alter his plans ultimately remains to be seen, but more will be revealed in the coming weeks.
