Bobby Lashley Vs. Drew McIntyre Confirmed For WWE WrestleMania 37

For the WWE championship

WWE announced on Monday night that World champion Bobby Lashley will defend the championship against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 next month at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Lashley has been champion since March 1, winning it from The Miz in a lumberjack match on Monday Night Raw. Miz had won it eight nights earlier from McIntyre at Elimination Chamber, in a Money in the Bank cash-in. Lashley had attacked McIntyre prior to the cash-in, wearing him down for Miz's benefit.

The match takes place one year after McIntyre became WWE champion for the first time, defeating Brock Lesnar in the main event of the second night of WrestleMania 36 in Orlando. The same night, Lashley lost a singles match to Aleister Black.

McIntyre previously made a successful defense of the WWE title against Lashley at last year's Backlash.

The current card for WWE WrestleMania 37, taking place Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL, is as follows:

* WWE World: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

* WWE Universal: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Edge

* SmackDown Women's: Sasha Banks (c) vs. Bianca Belair
