Booker T, Logan Paul, Edge & More Return In The 2023 WWE Men's Royal Rumble
Booker T, Edge, and more in the WWE Men's Royal Rumble!
Alongside Cody Rhodes - who went on to win the whole thing and punch his ticket to WrestleMania 39 - the Men's Royal Rumble featured multiple returns.
Johnny Gargano, who spent the last month out of action due to injury, returned as the fifth entrant in the Royal Rumble. Johnny Wrestling lasted just over 30 minutes in the match before he was dumped over the top rope by Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio of Judgment Day.
This wasn't Judgment Day's only involvement in the match, however, as they came face-to-face with their former leader Edge, who made his return to WWE at #24. The Rated-R Superstar quickly eliminated Damian Priest and Finn Balor after consecutive spears but he was unable to dump Dominik Mysterio over the top rope. While he was trying to do so, Balor and Priest jumped up onto the apron and dragged Edge over the top rope, eliminating him from the match. The rivals then proceeded to brawl up the aisleway, only for Rhea Ripley to attack Edge from behind, laying him out.
Judgment Day then looked set to stand tall, only for Beth Phoenix to make her own return and Spear Rhea Ripley on the stage before WWE officials escorted Edge and The Glamazon backstage.
Before that, Booker T made a surprise return at #21, appearing inside a WWE ring for the first time since April 2012 and in his first Rumble match in 11 years. Booker T hit a Back Kick and a Book End before performing his trademark Spinarooni. He was then eliminated by GUNTHER after just over a minute.
At #29, it was Logan Paul who made his return to WWE, having recovered from his own injuries that he suffered in the main event of Crown Jewel in November. Paul made it to the final three, even eliminating Seth Rollins to seemingly set up a clash at WrestleMania 39, before he was thrown over the top rope by eventual winner Cody Rhodes. Paul was also involved in an awesome spot as he and Ricochet took each other out with simultaneous springboard crossbodies.
