Booker T believes Matt Riddle became a liability for WWE
Following on from an initial wave of layoffs last week, WWE also released former Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle, a move that surprised few due to Riddle’s erratic behaviour outside of the ring.
WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT commentator Booker T commented on Riddle’s release on the Hall of Fame podcast, saying the following about ‘The Original Bro’:
"We were just talking about Riddle and what did I say that day? I said that's only going to be tolerated so much. I think I said something like that. You know, you can get away with that kind of stuff only for so long. It catches up with you because then you become a liability. You don't want people in the news for negative reasons. That's the last thing you want. The last thing you need is having someone in the news for negative purposes,” said Booker.
Riddle recently made headlines after accusing an airport cop of sexual assault, and spent the early part of 2023 in WWE-sponsored rehab after violating the WWE wellness policy.
