Booker T Thinks CM Punk Turning Up At WWE Raw Could Be 'His Brian Pillman Moment'

Booker T believes CM Punk may be trying to work WWE and AEW against each other

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has suggested that CM Punk showing up backstage prior to this past Monday's episode of Raw might be his 'Brian Pillman moment'.

The Straight-Edge Superstar shocked many WWE personnel by showing up unannounced at the arena, though he was reportedly invited there after fortuitously being on the same flight to Chicago as some WWE stars.

Despite only being backstage for a short time, Punk supposedly managed to speak with Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and cleared the air with The Miz, before being asked to leave the arena.

Speaking about Punk's surprise visit on a recent edition of his The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker said: "That's something that him and Tony Khan should be talking about. Why was he at a WWE show [...] This might be his Brian Pillman moment, you know? 'I'm going to work the companies against each other'".

During his 'Loose Cannon' phase in 1996, Pillman blurred the lines between working and shooting in an effort to generate interest in his services and create a bidding war between WWE and WCW. It worked, as he managed to engineer his WCW release and sign a lucrative deal with WWE.

According to recent reports, there is a feeling within WWE that Punk wants to return to the company. However, the 44-year-old remains under contract to AEW.
