Bracket For WWE Women's United States Championship Tournament Revealed

It was revealed yesterday that the first ever WWE Women’s United States Champion would be crowned at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event special on NBC on December 14 in Uniondale, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. WWE have also since revealed the full bracket for the tournament to crown the inaugural champion. 

The tournament will consist of four triple threat matches, with the winners of those respective bouts heading to the semifinals in singles matches, and eventually the final. The first triple threat match in the bracket took place on last night’s November 15 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, as Bayley defeated Candice LeRae and B-Fab to advance to the next round. Bayley will face the winner of a triple threat match involving Bianca Belair, Chelsea Green and Blair Davenport. 

On the other side of the bracket, the triple threat matches are Jade Cargill vs. Michin vs. Piper Niven, and Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Elektra Lopez. This indicates that the Women’s US Title will strictly be a SmackDown-exclusive title, raising questions about the potential debut of a Women’s Intercontinental Championship. 

Also planned for Saturday Night’s Main Event is a rumoured rematch between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.
