Brand Sponsored Match Planned For WWE WrestleMania 39

Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney Pie Match At WrestleMania 39 anyone?

A unique match could be in the works for WrestleMania 39.

WWE recently held the Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match at Royal Rumble, a match which saw the Alamodome bathed in purple light while LA Knight and Bray Wyatt glowed in the dark and hit each other with glow-in-the-dark weapons. The match was widely panned but did bring in plenty of money for WWE through the sponsorship with Mountain Dew.

Now, WWE Senior Vice President and Head of Global Sales and Partnerships Craig Stimmel has told the Hollywood Reporter that a brand-sponsored match will take place at WrestleMania 39, with the piece hinting any bout could be sponsored by Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

"I don't want to give away too much, but it'll be around a match, and the sponsorship of that match, and what they'll be able to bring to that match. So we're going to do things that fit inside of our storyline as well," Stimmel said.

WrestleMania 39 also looks set to be a major event when it comes to money from sponsors for WWE, with Stimmel revealing that sponsorship revenue for the Shows of Shows is already 43 percent up from WrestleMania 38. A source noted sponsorship revenue for the show currently sits between $14 million and $15 million.

WrestleMania 39 will emanate from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2. Already official for the event is Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women's Title. Another major match is also reportedly planned for Mania. Find out more here.
