Brandi Rhodes Says She Was Seeing What She Feared With AEW

Brandi Rhodes feared that AEW would lose its original vision

There has been much talk over the last year or so about the “feeling” being lost in AEW, with the likes of QT Marshall parting ways with the company (eventually coming back) due to the promotion heading in a different direction to what was originally envisioned. Brandi Rhodes, who also worked in AEW in a backstage capacity as the Chief Branding Officer, had a similar sentiment.

Speaking with The Athletic, Rhodes noted how AEW was going in a direction that was different to her original version

“What I feared with that company, I was seeing before my eyes. When you start to see things drift from the original vision and … I’ve seen this happen before, then you start to (think) this may not be what we thought it was.”

She would leave AEW alongside her husband Cody Rhodes, who also recently touched on her time in the promotion, noting how her treatment overall (not specifically from the company) was something that he was unhappy with in an interview on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

"There are so many people working at AEW who she was the one that said their name. She was the one (who) wanted to keep them in the fold when something went wrong. How she was treated after the departure, this is not by any company, just in general, it pissed me off to this day.”
