Football is a funny old game, but despite the unlikely team up of Bret Hart and Kilmarnock FC, the ‘Hitman’s well wishes were not enough for Killie to advance to the next round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The official Kilmarnock Twitter/X page shared a video of Hart, with the multi-time WWE Champion telling the ‘Pride of Ayrshire’ that they were ‘the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be’ ahead of the second leg of their playoff match at home to FC Copenhagen on August 29.

Kilmarnock needed to overcome a two-goal deficit, having lost 2-0 in the reverse fixture on August 22, but were ultimately held to a 1-1 draw at Rugby Park, with Copenhagen advancing to the next round with a 3-1 aggregate win.

This isn’t the first time the worlds of football and pro-wrestling have collided, with Fulham FC owned by AEW President Tony Khan - the promotion sponsoring the women’s team shirts for the 2024/25 season - whilst WWE recently partnered with English Premier League Champions Manchester City on a range of merchandise.
