Ever since Britt Baker defeated Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Double or Nothing 2021, fans have longed for a rematch with long-time rival Thunder Rosa, but this time with the title at stake.

According to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, we could be getting a rekindling of the infamous feud next year:

“For whatever this is worth, the big Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa rematch will be built up at this point for a major match in early 2022.”

Baker and Rosa’s feud at the beginning of 2021 produced the much lauded Lights Out match which headlined the St. Patrick’s Day Slam edition of AEW: Dynamite on March 17.

The bout was a hard hitting and bloody affair, and despite Rosa getting the win, all eyes were on Baker, who through absorbing a heap of punishment became a big star in AEW after the match.

Thunder Rosa since signed full-time with AEW, with the signing announced on July 22 2021.
