Bronson Reed Wins WWE NXT North American Championship

There is a new North American champion in NXT and his name is Bronson Reed! 

'The Colossal' Reed claimed his first title in WWE on this week's NXT after defeating Johnny Gargano in a Steel Cage Match in the show's main-event. 

A back-and-forth encounter saw Gargano try to escape the cage multiple times, with The Way teammate Austin Theory getting involved too, slamming the cage door on Reed's head. This allowed Gargano to hit One Final Beat, but Reed was able to kick out! 

At the end of the match, Theory tried to stop Reed from climbing out of the cage, only for Reed to fight back. The 32-year-old would then splash down onto Gargano before hitting the Tsunami Splash to become the new North American champion. 

Reed's huge Championship win comes 14 years to the day that he had his first match as a professional wrestler.

Gargano, meanwhile, sees the longest active-reign with a Title in NXT come to an end. The leader of The Way won the Championship - his third North American Title - in a triple treat match with Damian Priest and Leon Ruff at NXT TakeOver: WarGames IV.
