Bryan Danielson: People Will Tune In If You Put On Excellent Pro Wrestling

Approaching his Dynasty match with Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson talks about drawing an audience.

Speaking recently on a panel at SXSW, Bryan Danielson has spoken about his philosophy on attracting a wrestling audience.

The AEW star explained:

"You’re not just battling other shows. You’re battling people’s addiction to their phones and all sorts of things. How do you keep people’s attention? In my mind, it keeps going back to this idea of quality. Something I said when I first joined AEW is that if you put on excellent professional wrestling, people will tune in. That’s the goal weekly. Put on an excellent professional wrestling show."

At the time of writing, Bryan's most recent bout could be categorised as a dream match, especially given the injury history of both men and the fact they were once told they'd never wrestle again. On last week's AEW Collision, Danielson took on Kastuyori Shibata, defeating the former New Japan star via pinfall.

Bryan's next high-profile match is set to take place at AEW Dynasty on April 21 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is set to take on Will Ospreay, who recently became a full-time AEW roster member and enjoyed a critically-acclaimed clash with Konosuke Takeshita at the recent Revolution pay-per-view.

H/T to Fightful.
