Bryan Danielson Wants Two-Out-Of-Three Falls Match With Zack Sabre Jr.

Bryan Danielson wants a rubber match with Zack Sabre Jr.

Bryan Danielson and Zack Sabre Jr. now stand at one win apiece in their rivalry to determine who is the ‘best technical wrestler alive’, and Danielson wants to finish the series and determine just who is the best.

ZSJ got a win over Danielson at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11, but did not force Danielson to submit - a point which ZSJ hammered home when Danielson defeated him by pinfall at WrestleDream 2023.

Speaking after his loss to Sabre Jr., Danielson declared he wants another match with the TMDK leader ‘on neutral ground’, suggesting a two-out-of-three falls match would be the perfect way to end their series. Danielson praised ZSJ’s abilities, and called on any promoter in the world to book the match.

The two men were first scheduled to clash at the inaugural AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show in 2022, but ZSJ faced a debuting Claudio Castagnoli instead when Danielson wasn’t cleared to compete. Their first match occurred at the aforementioned WrestleDream in October 2023, with Danielson getting the win in front of a home town Washington crowd in an AEW ring.
