Buddy Matthews Reveals He Needs To Go Away For A While

Buddy Matthews is also stepping away from the ring

Another member of House of Black now has an uncertain future in professional wrestling.

Buddy Matthews was in action at a Fight Life Pro Wrestling event on Saturday in Rhode Island and following his match against JT Dunn, the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion revealed he had some bad news for the crowd.

He then said: "Unfortunately, I, like some of the other members, need to go away for a while. I need to recalibrate. I need to figure out some things. As my brother Malakai (Black) once said, this isn't goodbye -- this is see you later."

This comes only one week after Matthews' House of Black stablemate Malakai Black announced he had asked for his AEW release and would be stepping away from pro wrestling, also to recalibrate. Reports have noted that Black asked for his release after WWE reached out to him about a return.

Matthews' future with All Elite Wrestling is uncertain. He only joined the promotion in February 2022.
