BUSHI is set to exit New Japan Pro-Wrestling, after the Los Ingobernables de Japon member asked to depart the promotion.

Part of New Japan since 2012, BUSHI is set to finish up with the promotion in early May, with a press release by NJPW stating that BUSHI’s last appearance for the company will be on May 4 at night two of Wrestling Dontaku in Fukuoka. The statement noted how BUSHI’s exit came at the LIJ’s member’s personal request.

In New Japan, BUSHI is a one-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, one-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion with Shingo Takagi, and five-time NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champion with partners EVIL and SANADA, EVIL and Shingo Takagi, and Yota Tsuji and Hiromu Takahashi.

Prior to his run in NJPW, BUSHI is best known for his two stints in All Japan Pro Wrestling, having trained in the AJPW dojo under the likes of Animal Hamaguchi, Kaz Hayashi, and former AJPW President Keiji Mutoh.

BUSHI is not the only LIJ member to be exiting NJPW, with LIJ leader and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito also set to exit the promotion.
