Callum Newman Shot At Gene Munny's Daft Lad Emporium

A dramatic evening at Gene Munny's Daft Lad Emporium

Arguably the most bizarre professional wrestling show of 2023 took place on Tuesday, March 7 as Gene Munny and PROGRESS Wrestling hosted Gene Munny's Daft Lad Emporium at The Dome in London, England.

The show featured plenty of matches and opened with a Three-Way between Callum Newman, Jack Bandicoot, and Leon Slater. Newman picked up the win but the night soon turned into a disaster for the rising star as he was shot by an unknown assailant when he looked to go backstage post-match.

This kicked off a murder mystery for the evening, with the investigation being led by Detective TK Cooper. PROGRESS talents were initially forced to walk past Newman's corpse as they made their way to the ring before he was taken away in a body bag. Talent still had to go through an active crime scene for the remainder of the show.

Somehow, that wasn't the only murder to take place at Gene Munny's Daft Lad Emporium as Kid Lykos II was beheaded following his loss to Man Like Mysterio in a Mask vs. Mask Match. The violence ultimately left one PROGRESS referee shaking while he was wrapped in a tin foil blanket.

If that wasn't enough, Gene Munny was also shot.
